Practicing The importance of regular practice cannot be overstated and is essential for learning how to play an instrument. Practicing every day of the week is essential for steady progress. Most students need active assistance and supervision from their parents while practicing at home. Parents can assist their children in several ways: - Make a daily practice schedule. You may include all their regular activities - school time, play time, homework etc. This chart can be made as artistic and creative as they wish. Practice done in the morning before going to school is the most effective. - Supervise the practice. Parents can repeat instructions from the teacher. Always use positive confirmation. Be involved, parents’ passion will spill over to the student with great results.
Make-ups Group classes Missed group classes can be made up by placing students in another matching level class. This cannot be guaranteed because it will depend on the capacity of that particular class and the teacher’s discretion. Please carefully review your schedule before committing to a lesson time and day to avoid unnecessary misses. Once the semester has begun, students cannot transfer to another class or switch to another instrument. Individual and semi-private lessons If a student has to miss a lesson please notify the administration at least 24 hours before the lesson. No make-up can be given for lessons missed with less than 24 hour -or no notification, no exceptions. Up to two make-ups are allowed per semester at the teacher’s discretion and will be scheduled strictly during the make-up days as determined in the calendar.
Inclement Weather In cases of inclement weather all cancelled activities will be rescheduled. ProMusica will notify students by email. LCPS school closings and delays will not affect ProMusica’s schedule and lessons will proceed as scheduled unless ProMusica emails students to cancel activities.
